Benson first started playing the euphonium at the age of 8, followed by the piano at the age of 9. Since then, he has had several opportunities to perform with bands such as the Singapore Wind Symphony, Philharmonic Youth Winds, SMU Symphonia, and AudioImage Wind Ensemble. 

 

During his National Service, Benson served as a Military Musician with the Singapore Armed Forces Ceremonial Band. He is currently pursuing a degree in Chemical Engineering at the National University of Singapore. He "works out" regularly, with his favorite machine being the "Vending Machine".
