Lion City Brass Band joins the 3rd Music Exchange & Concert Showcase at Anderson Primary School, as mentors to the talented students from Anderson Primary School, Bukit Timah Primary School and Hougang Primary School. A fun day of brass workshops by the Principal Musicians from Lion City Brass Band, followed by a finale concert.

Join the Lion City Brass Band, led by Music Director Ignatius Wang, for their Christmas concert at the newly-restored Cathedral of the Good Shepherd! Featuring the Cathedral Choir of the Risen Christ, conducted by Sir (Dr.) Peter Low. 

All are welcome, ADMISSION IS FREE! 

We are honored to feature the Lion City Brass Band, under the musical direction of ME4 Ignatius Wang, at the SLBF’s 2016 Opening Concert. Treat yourself to a night of breathtaking brass band music and to top that up, the brass band will also be accompanying two of our international artistes in this opening show! Festival Passes and Tickets will be available for purchase very soon. Stay tuned!

“As it is our very first concert, we wanted to show what brass band music is all about and what brass players can do. We will be featuring energetic pieces such as “Enter The Galaxies” and “Fire in the Blood” by Paul Lovatt-Cooper, who has very kindly sponsored his music for us. We will also be performing the main highlight of the concert, “Paganini Variations” by Philip Wilby, which is a very popular contest piece used in brass band competitions all around the world.”

Under the direction of talented young conductor Ignatius Wang, the band performed a selection of works which included music by Paul Lovatt-Cooper and featured principal euphonium player and Sterling Instruments Artist, Mark Glover as soloist (picture).

​

The band also worked with local primary school brass players and watched in appreciation as they gave their own excellent performance.
