Uvahraaj first started playing the tuba at Rosyth School, under Mr Winston Aw and later at Yio Chu Kang Secondary School under Conductor Mr Desmond Ng. During his National Service, he served in the Singapore Armed Forces Ceremonial Band as a Military Musician, under ME4 Ignatius Wang.

Currently under the tutelage of Mr Tan Yao Cong at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Uvahraaj has also taken lessons from well-known tubists, such as Hidehiro Fujita and Oystein Baadsvik. Besides performing with NAFA Orchestra and ensembles, he also performs actively with the Lion City Brass Band, The Philharmonic Orchestra, Addo Chamber Orchestra , Sembawang Wind Orchestra, Audio Image Wind Ensemble and Mus’Art Youth Wind Orchestra.
